Gina’s quilting passion is color—how colors play and work together. She gets most excited about quilting when considering all of the color and design possibilities of the project. Gina has a love affair with any blue fabric, but truly loves all colors and fabric styles.
Lenore, an avid golfer and retired home ec teacher, has a sixth sense for the mechanics of sewing machines. You’re sure to stay on course if you take a class from Lenore, because she masterfully gives clear and precise instructions. In addition to quilts, she also enjoys machine embroidery and embellishing garments.
Combining color and texture, in both gardens and quilts, is Kathy’s passion. She likes all kinds of fabrics and enjoys making snuggly quilts for family members, backed in Minkee, of course! Her experience helping customers shines through.
Soft-spoken Amy is a dynamo quilter who likes trying new patterns and techniques, and loves making small quilts with precision piecing. She has a “can do” outlook, loves helping customers, and will patiently guide you through the fabric selection process.
The creative bug bit Carolyn when she stumbled upon a quilt shop 25 years ago. Carolyn likes making more than just quilts…bags, banners, pillows, just about anything with fabric. Often found at the front desk, Carolyn will always greet you with a warm hello and caring smile.
Mary Jo makes big quilts and gets the whole family (5 kids) involved in the process, from fabric selection to actual sewing. She says she never met a fabric she didn’t like. No matter what level your quilting skills are, you’ll find Mary Jo to be very supportive and encouraging.
Kelly was coaxed into taking a quilting class by her sister-in-law 10 years ago. She loves fun, bright fabrics and 1930’s-40’s reproductions. Kelly is our resident computer guru, and often rescues us from our technology challenges.
Loraine is inspired by the wide range of beautiful and creative quilts customers make. She has come to appreciate all types of fabrics and quilt styles. Loraine likes paper piecing and making kids quilts for charity. She will scour the store until she finds just the right mix of fabrics for your quilt.
Dyed-in-the-wool Chicagoan Linda uses her background in graphic design to put together fabric colors and textures. She loves batiks and earth tones, and is energized by interacting with co-workers and customers.
Jen enjoys taking quilting classes and the camaraderie and sharing of ideas with a group of fellow quilters that goes along with that. She is crazy for batiks, and aims to provide excellent customer service to PHF shoppers.
